Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has announced the CPCB Recruitment 2026 notice for filling 51 contractual posts under the SER phase-III project on river Ganga. This recruitment is being done by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, wherein the project is funded by NMCG under Namami Gange Programme. Online application process began from 24th August 2026, and the last date to apply was 7th September 2026.
There are many CPCB job posts for those having scientific, technical, financial, administrative and field experience. There are 51 vacant posts consisting of 1 post of Scientist-D, 8 posts of Scientist-C, 12 posts of Scientist-B, 3 posts of Assistant Manager (finance), 1 post of Administrative Assistant, 13 posts of Scientific Assistants, 1 post of Taxonomist, 4 posts of Data Entry Operator and 8 posts of Field Assistants.
CPCB Recruitment 2026 Qualifications vary from one post to another. The applicant may need to hold any of the following qualifications based on the posts like B.Sc., B.E., B.Tech., M.Sc., BCA, B.Com, MBA, CA, or 10+2. Applicants for High Level Scientists’ post must hold appropriate Post Graduate/Engineering qualifications with requisite work experience/research experience. Hence the candidates must verify their post wise eligibility criteria.
The recruitment of candidates would be done on the basis of contractual appointment and not regular/permanent CPCB appointment. Appointees could be offered a contract for a period of one year initially and can be extended as per the project requirements/performance. There will be no automatic guarantee of appointment under the regular scale of CPCB. Candidates could be assigned to CPCB Regional Directorate Lucknow, Kolkata or Chandigarh or CPCB Head Office, Delhi, as required by the Project.
