GATE 2025 Exam Begins February 1: Admit Card Link and Exam Day Instructions Here
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025, conducted by IIT Roorkee, is set to commence on February 1, 2025. The exam will be held on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025 across various centers.

Meanwhile, IIT Roorkee has relocated test centers in Prayagraj due to the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela. Candidates who had selected Prayagraj as their exam city will now take the test at newly assigned centers in Lucknow. The institute has issued updated admit cards reflecting the revised exam venues.
Here are some important instructions given by IIT Roorkee that candidates must follow during GATE 2025-
- Candidates can appear for one or two out of the 30 test papers in GATE 2025. The examination will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode, where questions will be displayed on a computer screen.
- A virtual scientific calculator will be provided on the screen for calculations, and candidates must use it during the exam. Personal calculators, watches, wallets, mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, and other electronic or communication devices are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall.
- Candidates are not allowed to bring books, charts, tables, loose sheets, papers, handbooks, pouches, or boxes into the exam hall. Possession of such items, even if not used, will lead to disqualification.
- GATE officials will not be responsible for the safekeeping of any personal belongings of the candidates.
- Each candidate will receive a scribble pad for rough work, on which they must write their name and registration number before using it. Candidates can possess only one scribble pad at a time. If a second scribble pad is required, the first one must be returned to the invigilator. All scribble pads must be returned at the end of the exam.
