Study in New Zealand: The New Zealand Science and Technology Scholarships align with the NEP and are available to Indian students enrolling in their first year of a full-time program in New Zealand.

Education New Zealand Manapou ki te Ao and Te Pūkenga – New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology (NZIST) have announced an exclusive scholarship initiative for Indian students, offering scholarships worth over NZ$200,000. This program, launched at an event hosted by the New Zealand High Commission in New Delhi, is designed for Indian students beginning full-time studies in 2025.

Selected students can pursue admissions at New Zealand’s globally renowned institutions, which focus on career-oriented applied learning, industry connections, local community engagement, and real-world experience.

Eligible programs for the scholarship include agri-technology, applied health sciences, aquaculture, architecture, biotechnology, construction, computing systems, digital technology, engineering (various specializations), food technology, information technology, marine conservation, nursing, quantity surveying, veterinary nursing, and viticulture.

Ziena Jalil, Chief of Staff at Te Pūkenga, highlighted the urgent need for more skilled professionals in science and technology, fields that are critical in today’s world. She described the scholarship as a commitment to providing Indian students with access to globally recognized qualifications rooted in industry best practices, especially in areas with a high demand for talent.

Jalil also noted that Indian students form the largest group of international students across NZIST’s more than 80 campuses, enriching the cultural diversity of the institution. “It is not uncommon to see large Diwali celebrations on our campuses,” she added.
