South Central Railway has announced a major recruitment drive for apprentices for the 2025–26 training year. A total of 2,801 apprentice posts are available in different technical trades. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official portal of Railway Recruitment Cell Secunderabad. The last date to submit the online application is April 11, 2026.
This recruitment is open to candidates who have passed Class 10 and hold an ITI certificate in the relevant trade. Applicants must have scored at least 50 percent marks in their Class 10 examination. They must also have a National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT or SCVT in the related field. However, engineering graduates and diploma holders are not eligible to apply for these apprentice posts.
The minimum age required for this recruitment is 15 years, while the maximum age limit is 24 years as of April 11, 2026. Age relaxation will be given to reserved category candidates according to government rules.
The vacancies are available in several trades. The largest number of posts are for electricians, with more than 1,200 vacancies. Other major trades include fitter, AC mechanic, welder, computer operator and programming assistant (COPA), diesel mechanic, and electronic mechanic. A few positions are also available for machinists, painters, carpenters, and motor mechanic vehicle workers.
The selection process will be based purely on merit. The merit list will be prepared by taking the average of the marks obtained in the Class 10 examination and the ITI certificate. There will be no written exam or interview for this recruitment.
Candidates must complete a two-step registration process before applying. First, they need to register on the National Apprenticeship portal to receive a registration number. After that, they can visit the official railway website and fill out the application form.
Applicants must upload their documents, verify their identity using Aadhaar details, and carefully check all information before submitting the form. After submission, they should keep a printout of the application form for future reference.
