The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has released the OPSC OCS Recruitment 2026 notification for 465 Group A and Group B vacancies. Candidates holding any Bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply.

OPSC OCS Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria
- Eligibility Criteria (Brief):
- Citizenship: Candidate must be an Indian citizen.
- Age Limit:21 to 42 years as on 1 January 2025 (born between 02 January 1983 and 01 January 2004).
- Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST/SEBC/Women/Ex-Servicemen and 10 years for PwD (40% or more disability), as applicable.
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized Indian university or an approved foreign university.
- Odia Language: Must be able to read, write, and speak Odia and have passed Odia at the required school level as prescribed.
- Marital Status: Candidates with more than one living spouse are not eligible, unless exempted by the State Government.
- Government Employees: Eligible subject to meeting criteria and producing a No Objection Certificate (NOC).
- Character & Health: Must have good moral character and be mentally and physically fit.

- Pay Scale Details:
- Odisha Police Service, Group-A (Junior Branch):
₹56,100 in Level-12, Cell-1 of the Pay Matrix as per ORSP Rules, 2017. - Group-B Services (Odisha Taxation & Accounts, Co-operative, Skill Development & Employment, Labour, Excise, and Tourism Services):
₹44,900 in Level-10, Cell-1 of the Pay Matrix as per ORSP Rules, 2017.
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 21 years.
- Maximum Age: 42 years.
- The candidate must not have been born earlier than 02/01/1983 and not later than 01/01/2004.
- Upper age limit relaxable by 5 years for SC, ST, SEBC, Women and Ex-Servicemen candidates.
- Upper age limit relaxable by 10 years for Persons with Disabilities having permanent disability of 40% or more; PwD candidates of SC/ST/SEBC categories are eligible for cumulative age relaxation.

OPSC OCS Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
- Exam Pattern (Brief):
- Preliminary Examination (Objective type) for selection of candidates for Main Examination.
- Main Examination (Written) and Interview for Personality Test for selection to various services and posts.
- Stages:
- Preliminary Exam (Objective) – for selection to Main Exam
- Main Exam (Written) + Interview (Personality Test) – for final selection
- Preliminary Examination:
- Two papers (Objective, MCQs):
- GS Paper I: 200 marks, 2 hours
- GS Paper II: 200 marks, 2 hours (qualifying, minimum 33%)
- Selection for Mains is based on GS Paper I marks and qualifying GS Paper II
- Negative marking: 1/3 mark deducted for each wrong answer
- Main Examination:
- 9 papers in total
- Part I (Qualifying): Odia & English
- Part II (Merit-based): Essay, GS I–IV, and 2 Optional papers
- Only Part II marks count for ranking
- Interview:
- 250 marks
- Final merit is based on Main Exam + Interview
- Service Allocation:
- Based on rank and service preference

How to Apply for OPSC OCS Recruitment 2026
- Candidates must read the detailed advertisement available on the OPSC website before filling the online application form.
- Applications must be submitted online only through the OPSC website: https://opsc.gov.in.
- The online registration and examination fee payment link will be active from 20 January 2026 to 20 February 2026 (5:00 PM).
- The last date for submission of the registered online application is 27 February 2026 (5:00 PM).
- Applications submitted through any mode other than online will not be accepted and will be rejected.
- After the declaration of the Main Written Examination result, candidates shortlisted for the Interview/Personality Test must submit a printout of the online application along with photocopies of required documents on the day of document verification.
