Bihar CHO Recruitment: Registration for 4,500 Community Health Officer Posts Closes Tomorrow at shs.bihar.gov.in
The State Health Society (SHS) Bihar is set to close the application window for 4,500 CHO vacancies on Thursday, November 21. Aspiring candidates can apply for these contractual Community Health Officer positions by visiting shs.bihar.gov.in. Please note that the application deadline is 6 pm.

Applicants are required to pay an online application fee. The fee is ₹500 for male candidates from the Unreserved, EWS, EBC, and BC categories.
For female candidates (all categories), as well as SC/ST (Bihar domicile) and PwBD candidates, the application fee is ₹250.
Community Health Officers will earn a monthly salary of ₹40,000, which includes a fixed monthly pay of ₹32,000 and a performance-based incentive of ₹8,000. They will be responsible for leading primary care teams, consisting of male and female health workers, and ASHA workers at health sub-centres and health and wellness centres.
The minimum age requirement for all candidates is 21 years, with the cut-off date for qualification and age being October 1, 2024.
The upper age limits are as follows:
- Unreserved, EWS Male: 42 years
- Unreserved, EWS Female: 45 years
- BC, EBC Male and Female: 45 years
- SC, ST (Bihar domicile) Male and Female: 47 years
Who are not eligible to apply for Bihar CHO Recruitment?
Applicants won’t be eligible under the following conditions
- Candidates who have previously served as Community Health Workers under the State Health Society, Bihar.
- Those currently employed as CHOs in Bihar under the National Health Mission.
If it is found at any stage that a candidate has previously joined as a CHO and resigned, left, been discharged, terminated, or is currently employed as a CHO, their application will be immediately rejected, and appropriate legal action will be taken against them, according to SHS guidelines.
