APSC prelims 2025: The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has issued the official notification for the Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination 2025. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications starting March 28, 2025, through the official website — apsc.nic.in.

• Application Start Date: March 28, 2025
• Last Date to Apply: April 29, 2025 (till 5 PM)
• Last Date to Pay Exam Fee: May 1, 2025 (till 5 PM)

Application Fee: APSC prelims 2025

• General Category & Ex-servicemen: ₹297.20 (inclusive of taxes and processing fees)
• SC, ST, BPL, PwBD, and Women Candidates (including ex-servicemen of respective categories): ₹197.20

Eligibility Criteria: APSC prelims 2025

• Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen
• Age Limit: 21 to 38 years as on January 1, 2024 (Age relaxation applicable for reserved categories)
• Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution
• Language Requirement: Ability to speak Assamese, or any other official/associate official language, or tribal language of Assam
• Additional Requirements:
  • Must be registered in a District Employment Office in Assam
  • Should be an original inhabitant of Assam

Examination Pattern: APSC prelims 2025

Preliminary Exam:

• Stages: Objective-type exam with two papers
  • General Studies Paper 1: 200 marks
  • General Studies Paper 2: 200 marks
• Negative Marking: ¼ mark deducted for each wrong answer
  • Marking more than one option will also be treated as an incorrect answer.
• Exam Centres:
  • Amingaon, Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Biswanath Chariali, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Dibrugarh, Diphu, Goalpara, Golaghat, Guwahati, Haflong, Hailakandi, Hamren, Hatsingimari, Hojai, Jorhat, Kajalgaon, Kokrajhar, Majuli, Mangaldoi, Morigaon, Mushalpur, Nagaon, Nalbari, North Lakhimpur, Pathsala, Silchar, Shivsagar, Sonari, Sribhumi, Tamulpur, Tezpur, Tinsukia, and Odalguri.

Main Exam:

• Location: Guwahati centre only
• Mode: Written test followed by Interview/Personality Test

Note: APSC has stated that the exam centres and dates may be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances. The exact dates for both prelims and mains will be announced later.
