There are two papers to the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE (Main). (B.E./B.Tech.) Paper 1 is a test that is given to students who want to get into undergraduate engineering programs (B.E./B.Tech.) at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), and institutions or universities that are funded by participating State Governments and are recognized by them. Additionally, it serves as an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced) exam, which is used to apply to IITs. For admission to B. Arch and B. Planning courses in the nation, Paper 2 is required.
It has been decided that the JEE (Main) – 2023 will be held in two sessions, one in January 2023 and one in April 2023, for the academic session 2023-24. The following are the specifics for Session I (January 2023).

NTA JEEMAIN Age Criteria
Candidates can apply to take the JEE (Main) exam in 2023 at any age. Candidates of any age can take the JEE (Main) – 2023 examination if they have passed the class 12 or equivalent exam in 2021, 2022, or 2023. However, applicants may be required to meet the age requirements of the Institute or Institutes to which they are applying.
NTA JEE Main 2023 Examination Scheme
JEE (Main) – 2023 will be conducted in the following modes:
- Paper 1 (B.E. /B. Tech.) in “Computer Based Test (CBT)” mode only.
- Paper 2A (B. Arch): Mathematics (Part-I) and Aptitude Test (Part-II) in “Computer Based Test (CBT)” mode only and Drawing Test (Part-III) in pen and paper (offline) mode, to be attempted on drawing sheet of A4 size.
- Paper 2B (B. Planning): Mathematics (Part-I), Aptitude Test (Part-II), and Planning-Based Questions (Part-III) in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode only.
How to Apply NTA JEE Main Online Form 2023
- Candidates are required to carefully read the Instructions in the Information Bulletin on the NTA Website, which include instructions on how to fill out the Application Form online. Candidates who do not follow the instructions will be eliminated immediately.
- The only way to apply for the JEE Main 2023 exam is online. Any other method of submitting the application will not be accepted.
