IIM CAT 2024 Answer Key Awaited at iimcat.ac.in: Here’s How to Download It When Released
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta is set to release the CAT 2024 Answer Key shortly. Candidates who appeared for the exam can download the answer key from the official website at iimcat.ac.in once it is available.
Along with the answer key, IIM Calcutta is expected to open an objection window, allowing candidates to challenge the answer key. The objections will be reviewed by a panel of experts, who will prepare the final answer key and the CAT Results 2024.
It’s important to note that the IIM CAT 2024 examination was conducted on November 24 in three slots:
- First slot: 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM
- Second slot: 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM
- Third slot: 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM
The exam consisted of three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability (QA/Quants). The total exam duration was 120 minutes, with each section allotted 40 minutes.

Experts Analyze IIM CAT 2024 Slot Difficulty Levels: Insights from Career Launcher and CATKing
According to experts, Slot 1 of the IIM CAT 2024 exam posed a higher level of difficulty compared to previous years. Gautam Puri, Co-Founder and MD of Career Launcher, mentioned, “A total of 68 questions were to be attempted in 120 minutes. The overall difficulty level of this year’s exam was notably higher than the first slot of CAT 2023.”
He added that the VARC (Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension) section in Slot 1 was moderate in difficulty, featuring 24 questions to be completed within 40 minutes. The DILR (Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning) section was similarly moderate, mirroring the difficulty level of the previous year. However, the QA (Quantitative Ability) section presented a significant challenge this year.
In Slot 2, the VARC section was also reported to be of moderate difficulty, with Career Launcher advising candidates to attempt at least 10-12 questions. The DILR section was considered easy to moderate, with an expected attempt of 10-11 questions. The QA section in Slot 2 was moderately challenging, with candidates encouraged to aim for 11-12 questions.
As for Slot 3, CATKing noted that the paper lived up to its reputation for diversity in question types, moderate complexity, and the need for strategic time management. The paper was deemed slightly lengthier than those in other slots but remained balanced, offering ample opportunities for aspirants to secure high scores with focused and strategic attempts.

- On the home page, click on the candidate login tab.
- Enter the credentials to log in and click on submit.
