The first phase of the 2023-24 placement season at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay concluded with 85 students securing a ₹1 crore package through campus placements.
IIT Bombay reported that prominent recruiters such as Accenture, Airbus, Air India, Apple, Arthur D. Little, Bajaj, Barclays, Cohesity, Da Vinci, DHL, Fullerton, Future First, GE-ITC, Global Energy and Environ, and Google participated in the campus placement season.
The institute stated, “There were 63 international offers with locations in Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Netherlands, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Additionally, 85 job offers with a CTC greater than ₹1 crore per annum were accepted.”
The sectors with the highest number of placement offers included Engineering & Technology, IT/Software, Finance/Banking/Fintech, Management Consulting, Data Science and Analytics, Research and Development, and Design.
IIT Bombay mentioned that a total of 388 domestic and international organizations participated in the campus placements. The institute strategically organized the placement process to ensure an optimal distribution of firms, aiming to alleviate stress on students and minimize cross offers.
Until December 20, 2023, the institute extended a total of 1,340 offers, resulting in the placement of 1,188 students. This includes seven students placed in PSUs and 297 PPOs secured through internships, of which 258 students accepted, according to the institute.
